Can you show here the complete img tag that you are inserting into a module? You should use the CMS Content / Media buttons exactly as you do for an article. There is a form field to enter the Alt Text.

In articles it allows m to put in the alt.

but I'm using site module and there is no option.
i select the image and it says images/vegnsite/rachel-vegan-girl-wearing-vegn-shirt.png#joomlaImage://local-images/vegnsite/rachel-vegan-girl-wearing-vegn-shirt.png?width=260&height=443

So how and where do I put the alt tag in this as nothing seems to work?
